Wow. That doesn't look anything like Daniel's Xebra.

350 mile range and freeway speeds does it for me.

Of course, I'd also have to be able to afford it.

OMG, that's an SUV I'd go for. Now if only they will price it affordably so the average-joe could buy one. And one day when I win the lottery, I want a Tesla roadster! Woo!

...ok Starbug, time to stop dreaming.... *sigh*

If they can deliver that car with those specs, I will buy one as long as the price below or around 100K €.

But how will they achieve the 10 min. recharge? I guess not at home...

Why do people keep posting this garbage??? There are several threads already about Zap's basic business plan, which is to announce impossible, non-existent cars, in order to boost its stock price and make money by trading in its own stock.

COME ON PEOPLE!!! This is bull. The Xebra is the only thing Zap has ever brought to market, and it's a fluke.

That would be a real bargain for a crossover that can leave a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the dust as far as acceleration is concerned...

I am currently thinking of replacing my Volvo XC70 by a BMW X5 3.0sd, but maybe I should wait a little longer. Of course, I need to figure out how I can use this car for a 2000km holiday.

EDIT: Daniel, I read your reply right after posting this. Now you spoiled my day! :( Perhaps I should keep looking for that X5...

I'd dump my Prius for a lot less than this. I'd settle for 1 seat, no cargo space, 55mph max on an incline, and a 100mile range on a full charge. At anything less than $45k.

You should have bought the RAVev when they were available. One charge goes to 120 miles, Sold or leased for $45k plus CA offered tax back credit of $36k to the owners. ! Drove those RAVev at 75~85 mph comfortably ....

How about $45k for 200 miles, five seats, 100mph and 0-60 in under six seconds? That's something that can be a reality from Tesla Motors. This Zap... not so much.

If you look around, you'll find folks who will be selling perpetual motion cars in the very near future too. :sigh:

Roadster base model is estimated at $98k
The announced sedan is estimated around $65k

I'm not aware of any current or announced Tesla vehicle estimated to be less than $45k.

Looking forward to there being one when I'm ready to trade in my Prius.

As for the RAV, I wasn't even aware of it's existance until about 2 months ago, so I missed out when they were available. Were they only available in CA?

OMG! DANGER! DANGER!!!! Every one of these ZAP-X cars are guaranteed to crash!!!!

    From ZAP's own web site:
" . . . all electronic touch screen controls on-board carputer: Windows XP, Wi-Fi, Blue-tooth, High definition video, iPod ready, Fire wire, USB2 and Mini USB ports."

Windows XP? Please tell me they are joking.

Well, at least they haven't made the tragic mistake of upgrading to Windows Vista.

Not to worry. I'm not putting money down on a vaporcar. If it's not on a lot and I can drive it away, forget it.

I don't care who it is....Zap, Phoenix, Tesla or.....Toyota. When they make it I will buy. I just can't afford $100,000. (And I don't want to buy a GM.)

Hmmm, bittersweet feelings, on one hand I wouldn't mind making enough money that I pay $36k in taxes, on the other hand... I'm glad I don't have to pay 36k in taxes.

Just because Bill Gates is still patching win 2000 ... seven years after its release, doesn't mean XP will crash

That might be applicable if XP didn't crash.... Unfortunately, that is not true (that XP doesn't crash). In my experience with NT, W2K Pro and XP Pro, the most stable of the three was NT.

The original estimage of the "White Star" (development name for the follow-up sedan to the roadster) was announced as "under $50k". I'm sure this may change, though I have not anything over $50k, and I've heard as low as $45k.

Looking forward to there being one when I'm ready to trade in my Prius.

Yes. From exactly 25 dealers. You had to live in CA, and be within 50 miles of one of these dealerships. And you had to actually know they were available. Amazing that more didn't sell, huh? According to Toyota, they spent more on the Rav4EV advertising than on the Prius advertising during the same time frame - and nobody bought the EVs. :sigh:
