Hitch advice

    I own a 2004 Prius and am in the market for a hitch to pull my kayak trailer. Prefer 2" instead of 1.25", but what is the consensus out there. Was going to search the forums, but since the format change, I do not see how to search specific/individual forums any longer.

    I'd go with the 2" -- but I've never had a hitch on my prius. I just think the 1.25" is too small. Although officially Toyota would say that the Prius shouldn't be used for towing.

    Now to find a 2" hitch. Normally I wouldn't think of towing with the Prius, but yaks + trailer = 200 lbs or less.

    I got mine installed at U-Haul, only took about 30 mins and about $125. Couldn't have done it myself any quicker or cheaper!

    hehe Just sent you a PM. I looked up Uhaul online and all they list for me is a 1.25" hitch. I'll call.

    Is that your's? I think that mini camper trailer looks awesome! I know there are a lot of camper clubs in my area. I'd love to show up with that attached to my prius. Now I just have to convince my wife to allow me to get one!
