While driving a high pitch noise started and the red brake light came on. I pulled over and when I went to stop the brake felt stiff but did slow down and stop. But felt strange. I was affraid to drive it. I did turn off and back on and drive it to a parking space. I am affraid to drive it if brakes will go out on me. The noise and light keeps happening anytime turn car on. I parked it and will get towed. But one place told me prob abs and a $1300 or $3400 part. I bought the car for 3k lol. So ya let’s see codes when I tow it in.

You get the high-pitch warning alarm whenever there is not enough stored pressure in the brake system to assist you with your braking. That will make the pedal stiff and it will be hard to stop the car.

As to the reason for the insufficient pressure, it is best to post the trouble codes from the brake system. Then we will know more. You can search here for information on getting the trouble codes.

It is usually not the sort of problem that gets better by itself.
