    I'm looking at a high-mileage Gen 1 Prius (2002) with 247K miles.

It was a fleet vehicle, so I'm pretty sure it's got impeccable maintenance records.

The battery was replaced in 2010 or 2011.

Is it worth buying if I can get a good deal? I'd be interested to hear opinions on what a fair price would be. (they're asking $1900)

How long do the batteries normally last before needing replacement? And what's an average cost for replacement?

This would be a second vehicle, used for mainly in-town trips and errands and such. Probably wouldn't travel much more than 25 miles from home.

Please share your wisdom, it'll be much appreciated!

    thanks!

If it's $1,900 then yes, that's an excellent deal you'll get the back in gas alone in one to two years! (Depending of course on what kind of gas guzzlers you own now. If it's $19,000 then H@!! No!

    Which battery was replaced?

If the hybrid battery was replaced (not the $150 battery that sits in the rear fender well) and they want $1,900 GET OFF THE FRICKEN COMPUTER AND GET YOUR #$% DOWN THERE NOW!!!!!!!!!

If the above are correct, you can sell it on ebay and at LEAST double your money...
