HID kit & moisture in headlight

    I've had an issues with the drivers side light fogging up after damp nights or rain. The dealer replaced it under a TSB but it is still happening I've checked the 3 seals (low beam, high beam, small light on top) and replaced the high beam just to make sure. I'm about to replace the HID in hopes that moisture is getting in through it but for some reason I don't think so. The passenger side is fine and Yaris parked right next to it is fine also so I don't think this is "regular"condensation. I'm stumped. Any suggestions.

    Anyone know if installing an HID kit voids any kind of warranty?

    If you installed an aftermarket HID kit in the stock headlights, my guess is they are not making a proper seal and moisture is getting in there. I am guessing the HIDs replace the low beams so I would check the seals that came with your kit. There is no seal on the headlight itself, they are on the bulb. Also some moisture could have gotten in there when you installed them and when the light heats up it is boiling the water which would cause it to condense on the headlight. As far as the warranty goes, you should be fine unless there is a problem that they can directly link to your kit as the cause. If some wires get fried or something and they say it was the HID ballast or some hack wiring that caused it you will probably be SOL.
