has anyone here done a hid conversion kit on their prius? if so can anyone recommend a certain kit. and where to get it from. like do i need a high/lo kit or just a low beam kit? for any one whos done it before i'd greatly appreciate some input.
i think the general opinion i have heard is that its just not worth doing a HID conversion, because of the lights, ballists, leveling system, auto leveling sensor involved.
ok, thanks for that opinion. i'd like to hear from a few people who have done it though. i did a conversion kit in my cadillac cts that i had to deal with the ballasts, leveling system, and leveling sensor and it didn't give me any problems. i only did my low beams on the cts though.
On the Prius, the low beams and high beams are the same. One capsule is used for both, with a mechanical shutter changing the shape of the beam. That doesn't answer your question, but it's the only two cents I have to offer. Here is the results of the google search if it will help: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images Tom
buy a nice kit made in japan not "japan" or "german" "engineered" or "designed" i got lucky with my japanese kit from ebay for 80bucks but know someone who got a crappy kit from same vendor lights are awesome but i think annoying to others on the road my kit came with high and low beam some kits you lose high beam i had sylvania ultrastar bulbs in before hid conversion. they were much better than factory and i believe. . .the best bang for the buck! . . .easy install too. . .
i was going to look for hid housings but heard they were the same lens/reflector setup but different in that there is no factory place to mount the ballasts. . . used hid lights/housings are pretty cheap on ebay but why buy if they are the same lens setup? can someone confirm this? i doublestuck my aftermarket ballasts right on the side of my nonhid housings. . .
