Hertz is the Tesla showroom

They didn't have any locally, the day before the announcement. The agent didn't actually say they never had any here locally, but from what she did say, it sure sounded that way to me.

 

I'd rent one tomorrow just for giggles and grins.

It will be interesting to see how Hertz insures a fully charged battery on pickup. And what they define as "fully" and how good that choice is for the batteries. Does a rental have to be returned with a full charge?

Not sure I'd want to buy a used Tesla or any EV from Hertz..

 

I used to frequently advise prospective Prius buyers to rent one for a weekend to see if this car was a good fit for them.

Since a Tesla is more expensive, and its a fundamentally different car then this practice would seem to be even smarter - provided that #1 doesn't doink it's customers too much for the up-scale sheet medal.

BUY a fleet vehicle?

Hail yeah.....as long as it's priced right.

The rule of thumb for cars with dirty titles is 60% of the street value for a comparable clean, privately owned vehicle.
I'd demand a similar, if slightly reduced discount for a rental.
