Each time I drive my engine will rev about 5 times. I have to pull over and turn off the car otherwise it will start slowing down, very scary on the freeway. Just replaced the auxiliary battery to see if that was the problem, but it didn't help. The millage is still at 40 on the highway, and the battery meter is not jumping up and down. I'm not going downhill or anything. It is hitting the top of the reading before revving, and after I turn the car off it's around the middle, but I don't think it's normal battery discharge when it's happening so frequently. It started a week ago after running over a piece of metal in the freeway. I heard a slight bang, but not a big one. The cruise control is out, and it turns off and on at stop signs, rather than just going off. Any ideas? Thanks.
