    Hi All,

My 4th gen Prius has a heated steering wheel and yesterday was my first chance to use it. My question is:

Is it normal for the 12:00 position to not heat up? I found the 2:00, 4:00, 8:00, and 10:00 positions did warm up. If it’s normal, so be it. If not, I would like to confirm so I can take it into the dealership.

    Thanks!

Yes. Unfortunately, it only heats the sides of the steering wheel. The top and bottom are unheated.

I suspect Toyota uses the same basic element throughout all its vehicles, including those with wood on the top and bottom where heating isn’t desirable.

it's probably an aid to where you are supposed to hold it for safe driving
