While driving tonight at 32k mi I noticed a new symbol illuminated on the instrument cluster. With my driving glasses on it looked like a lady bug. After donning my reading glasses and consulting the manual ( yes I RTFM) it turns out to be the 'headlight indicator light'. It is pale green and above the ABS symbol and to the right of the 'maintainance req'd' light on boot-up. This is not the 'brightlights on' symbol to the right of the speedometer. It is present only while headlights are on, I have HID's. This does not seem to be a warning but I had not noticed it before. Has this light just awakened, or have I had a visual defect before. Please let me know.
I've got HID's and this comes on whenever my headlights are on. I could be that you're too busy looking out the window than at the dash, which would be a good thing!
Ah the picture of a lightbulb emitting lightrays. Yes, that means the headlights (or maybe even just the tailligjhts) are on.
