My Daughter said she should be called "Rhonda" with a sexy voice like that. I agreed as it reminded me of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson lyrics, "Help Me Rhonda, help, help me Rhonda." The first time I had to use her was to locate a hospital my daughter was admitted to later in that first week. I did not know its location. Rhonda helped me drive right to it. (My daughter is alright, now.)

I sometimes refer to her as She Who Must Be Obeyed, referring to what Rumpole of the Bailey called his wife. Usually I just call her The Nav Lady. When I'm trying to use voice recognition, like saying "screen off" to which she responds "Showing Ski Resort icons", I call her STUPID!

I know her name is Jill, but I call her Holly, for reasons that any fan of Red Dwarf should know...

I call mine "Rita". My cousin calls hers "Shirley" - named after my mother who was a world class back seat driver.

    Charlies Angles.
I've heard at least three different ladies so far, British for the instructions, and Dutch and German for the names of places in the Netherlands and Germany.

Jill. That is the name of it's text-to-speech engine, isn't it?

I just want to add that my friends think I'm nuts. But when I explain that that is it's name, they go along with it.

Well, I tried to search this topic to see if it had come up, but I was unsuccessful in finding anything. I enjoyed reading the comments of others and discovered another who calls her Rhonda. I am a Rumpole of the Bailey fan and a Red Dwarf fan and enjoyed hearing those names. The other thread was from a year ago.
So, us 2007 drivers can add our two-cents worth, here.

    Another "Bitchin' Betty" here. :)

EDIT: I was briefly tempted to call her "Mother", like in the movie "Alien".

:D Sure did give the NAV Lady a name. In my now traded 2004, she was "Ernestine" - In my 2007 Touring Edition, she is "Ernestine Two" - inspired by the sometimes strange, even weird, answers she gives in response to a verbal request. Such as, I say "Go Home" and Ernestine Two might say "Showing Post Office Icons" or {if it's my lucky day} "Setting Home as Destination."

The name Ernestine honors Lili Tomlin's telephone operator character on Saturday Night Live years back.

From the same show, that is what I call MY wife. Therefore, SHE who must be obeyed, calls the Prius voice, 'the-bitch' because how dare she try an compete with instructions from she who must be obeyed :p .

Oh no! That means if you let her pick the route, it's Sophie's Choice.
