    What were you protesting about?

Have you ever been arrested for it? Sprayed with water etc?

    Did you eventually win?

I must confess I once stood outside a cellphone store with a sign when my cellphone company cheated me and all complaints fell on deaf ears.

I never saw a customer complaint handled so quickly in my life.

Does a tea party count? I've protested the excessive tax burden we are creating for our children.

Yes. I once belonged to the group Operation Rescue, and I took part in a protest outside an abortion provider.

No, I was not arrested. No, I no longer belong to the group, as they started justifying the killing of doctors and other health care workers that provide reproductive services. I've since changed my mind about the ethics of providing such services.

Yes I participated in a protest at the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles. We were protesting that dogs and cats are skinned alive for their fur in China. I have a soft spot for innocent animals who are brutalized by humans. The protest was peaceful and there was no violence. Police and the media were present.

Protesting for gay rights of course. As of recently gay marriage rights have been granted in Washington DC and as of just a few weeks ago Maryland now will recognize those marriages. There were minor arrests at both events. I will me getting legally married in June and have been partnered for 12 years.

I went to some kind of protest during my sophomore year of college. I don't remember exactly what it was about, but it had something to do with the environment. One of my professors was involved and a buddy & I thought we might score some points if he saw us there.

I was involved in a number of on-campus protests of administrative decisions as well. But I guess those wouldn't really be "public".

Back in the early 70's, I think. I went to a protest against the nuclear plant in Seabrook NH.
The plant was built and is still in use.

Race riot. I suppose you could consider that a public protest in an odd sort of way.

Yep, was cool, but I pick my protests, saved the county $3 Million once by my protest, they were going to give money to another county for education. I would protest more, but its kind of a waste these days, unless its for a very small cause, just like the Tea Party movement shows us, if it would have reality behind it, it could get big, but because it doesn't, its really only an extension of the Republican party, therefore goes nowhere.

Let's see, I protested the Vietnam war more times than I can count. Did I "win"? Well, LBJ didn't run for reelection. I protested nuclear weapons many times and was arrested on several of those, and went to jail and prison. It wasn't about "winning", it was about withdrawing my consent from WMDs. I've protested for gay rights & other civil and human rights. Haven't "won" that one yet, but the writing's on the wall and it's coming. Too hard to write on this iTouch to write more

Florida, Feb 2003, before the Iraq invasion. No, we couldn't stop nothing.

Saigon, 1972. I was just a kid and wasn't protesting anything but got teargassed anyway, just from being in the wrong place at the wrong time, coming home from school. Those were some exciting years, lemme tell ya...

I have marched wearing a 'I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is" t shirt. Does that count? I am not sure a gay pride march is a protest, so much as a celebration.
