I have been looking at visor vents for my 2011 Three. Upon looking at reveiws for the Weathertechs at some sellers I see that some people say that the front ones are a snap to install but the rear ones are tougher because of the clips. They say that the included instructions are not clear for the back doors. I also see that some people didn't have any problems installing them. I am curious if anyone has put them on their Gen III lately. I wonder if the instruction have been corrected and if there are less complaints now. Thanks for any info !

Put them on our 2011 about 2 weeks ago. Took all of 15 minutes. Followed instructions, and no issues. Clips are interesting, but just follow the instructions.

    Simple and easy!

Fronts are no problem. I didn't use the clips on the rears, but simply replaced Weathertech's tape with 3M double sided tape, 1.5 inch strip front and rear of each visor.
    – I pressed the taped visors into the weatherstripping... rolled up the windows and left them up for 24 hours... in 90º weather.
    – Six months, temps ranging from 90º to 0º and nothing's fallen off yet.
P.S. I have the "clear," actually a light smokey grey.

Skip the weathertech's and get yourself real JDM visors. You know, the tried and true stuff that protects you from tsunamis.

The ones that are interested and considerate would just pm me directly and not write junk and waste space in other peoples thread. You should learn how to write properly and use the tools in the forum properly as well.

    Lemooron,

My appoligies for writing junk, waisting space, not writing properly and ranting all over your thread. I will try in the future not to commit such atrocities, all the while striving to use the forum and it's tools properly.
I hope you find suitable window vent shades.

Me to, I don't want the in channel visors, they stretch out the material and whistle with the windows closed, I want the tape to the outside type, anyone have any idea who might supply them?

Wasted space consists of uninformative posts that waste bandwidth with a picture that doesn't indicate the name or vendor of said part, nor a link to the thread where the information can be found.

I can't figure out the clips...thinking I might just get some tape for the top. The problem is that I cannot get the clips to stay in place while I put the guards in. I assume based on the installation picture, the clips go above the window/below the weatherstripping. I called them and they said it went between the door frame and the weather stripping but that doesn't make any sense (and doesn't match their installation pictures. Any tips on getting the clips to stay in place long enough to put the visor in place? They don't appear to seat in the channel deep enough to stay in place. I have an '11 if it matters...seems like their are subtle differences between the '10 and '11 after I just installed the PChat fogs tonight.

    Thanks for any help,
    JMG

The clips go into the weatherstrip. Use the provided tool to pull down the lip of the weatherstrip, insert the clip with the bent flange facing out ( you have to push it in good to get it to stay). Did mine last week and it was pretty fast and easy.

Thanks...I decided to go 3M tape all the way around but if it doesn't work out, I'll give the clips another shot.
