Has anyone had a problem with the 2010-11 Toyota Prius OEM Rear Bumper Protector ends popping up?

This spring I purchased part #2010BP Bumper protector from Priuschat Shop.
I cleaned the bumper, aligned the protecter and glued the part on with the attached 3M tape.
It looked good for about a week. Then both ends started coming up.
I've used extra 3M tape, silicon, now superglue. I've heated it with a hair dryer (won't use a heat gun, probably take out the bumper).
It looks shoddy and I'd like to keep the car looking new as long as possible up here in the great salted north.
    HELP!

My bumper protector came with the car as an option and I have had no problems with it. From what I understand, these options are installed at the port which would be Jacksonville, FL for me.

I do not know what the difference, if any, would be between the port installed bumer protectors and the Prius Chat ones.

Ours came with the bumper protector, and I've noticed the driver's side end in particular is kind of high, doesn't look quite right. I've just ignored it for now. Interesting to know there's just adhesive behind there. Are you frequently parking in sun? Maybe it has a tendency to curl.

Try JB WELD? They make one for plastics now. I'm glad I read about this from you, as I've been debating that bumper protector since I tend to slide things in/out the trunk. This might be a little bit of a "white trash repair" idea, but is it possible to screw it into place? A small screw/bolt with a lock-washer on the underside would definitely hold it in place. I just haven't checked to see if you can access the inner bumper without removing it entirely.

Black push-in plastic fasteners might do the trick, look slightly less trashy and allow you to fasten without having to get at the back of the bumper. I'd think long and hard before drilling through the bumper though, and practice with hole diameters on scrap material first. Or:

    2. If you were to take the bumper off: drill a hole through the bumper but not through the protector, press the two together at the hole, and puddle some 2-part epoxy over the hole and beyond, from the backside of the bumper, basically to act like a rivet. What they'd refer to as a plug weld, in metal work. Make sure the underside of the protector is cleaned and roughened at the hole, to improve the bond. Or:

    3. Drill the hole through bumper from the back, push one of those blue (hidden style, used on some interior panelling, just clipped into back of panels at raised slots) Toyota plastic pins into the hole from the outside, put a bead of 2-part epoxy on it's head and keep the protector against it for a few hours, till it bonds. Hopefully...
