2005 with 239k mi. Original everything except hybrid battery. Battery is a Green Bean. Started making a grinding noise almost like a stuck caliper. It's coming from the front only on one side. I can't remember which side he said as it's my friend's. He said that it goes away at higher speeds, and doesn't change in volume or sound when turning back and forth. When it does go away, a tap on the brakes brings it back. He said he started working on it and it's not a stuck caliper. He's thinking transmission. Any thoughts or advice?
I have heard people describing a similar issue with one of the calipers binding and it was a faulty brake actuator. I hope not because it is an expensive part and a difficult DIY replacement. Are there any codes?
