    Hey all.

Am I just remember this incorrectly - when I turn on the car, and while it is running, I no longer have a green light on the power button. The light is illuminated when in the 2 other stages of "on" (w/o the foot on the brake), but not when I'm actually in motion.

Am I just remembering that there used to be a green light then too?

I know... silly little question of little merit, but the car is going in for a major check up and shakedown (before I move across the country), so I might as well get everything fixed.

    Thanks!

I believe around mid-2004 they put in a software patch on the car where they changed this 'feature'. Before, when the car was in full ready mode, the led in the power button would stay green. After the software patch though they switched it so now the light goes off once the car is ready - it was odd of them to do so, and I don't think there was ever a definate reason as to why this was done, but this is normal, so no worries. :)

I always knew it as green LED- ACC mode Amber LED- IG-On mode. No LED: check ODO display.
ODO display blank- Off. ODO display shows READY - car in, you guessed it, READY.

Sounds like Dan's playing MasterMind. My guess is "Blue, Green, White, Blue"

I'm having the same problem with my '05. When we first picked up the car, we both remember the light on the Power Button staying green while the car was in motion. Now the light goes completely off after being amber during the bootup process.

Maybe it's a notice that the car is still being "broken in," although I have heard once you pick up the car at the dealership, it's already broken in.

I haven't had it back to a dealership since we first picked up the car, so there hasn't been a chance for Toyota to load any software updates.

For those of you who remember green on READY, Look at your printed owner's manual and see what it says. I just verified today that the electronic version I downloaded from TechInfo in August has READY as off after brief amber.
