I bought a 2001 Prius recently and it has a button for a map feature, and when I press it says "external system not connected." And I wanted to know how and/or who would be the best way to get a gps system hooked up, and the cheapest way?
Get an aftermarket system. Unless you really really wanted to, it'll be expensive. You need the GPS sensor(s), DVD disc reader and various wires. It might seem like a lot of equipment but they are expensive. You can always drop by the dealer and ask for replacement parts (as if you had a GPS system and you were just inquiring) and see what they quote you.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(RobertB @ Sep 6 2007, 08:02 AM) </div> I think this would have been a factory option so at this point you would have to go with a portable unit like a Garmin or Tom-Tom. I have a Nuvi 350 ..newer models are out so you can pick up a new 350 at probably 1/2 the cost of what it was when it first came out.....and its still a great GPS.
