I couldn't have been happier with my dealer experience. $1000 off of MSRP on the BC package, no haggling, and no pricing shenanigans when I got there to buy the vehicle. The best part was that I only had to wait a week and a half for the exact option package and color that I wanted!

My sales guy said that he could do the same for anybody else. PM me for his name and number.

    Chris

I called the dealer PilotChris recommended and he'll be doing the same deal: $1000 under MSRP! Now I'm waiting for the color I want to get in.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out!

I can't believe anybody wanting to pay over MSRP in California when a one-way plane tic from even SoCal is easily offset by the cost saving. Plus, you'd get a cool road trip in beautiful NoCal.

Can you give more information about the dealer you talked about? Perhaps a telephone and saleperson you spoke with?

Posts like this always make us raise an eyebrow and wonder if the "option package I wanted," includes leather, special wheels, service plan or extended warranty, etc., etc....

Nope, standard package #6 as shown on Toyota.com and $750 off for me. The reason for the low prices is the availability here in CA, which is phenomenal. I too only waited 2 weeks for my seaside pearl.

    Congratulations on the great deal.

I got my Prius two weeks ago at a dealer in the SF Bay area. Paid MSRP but was able to buy it off the lot (8 miles on the odo and protective plastic still on the hood). It looks like the major dealers have ordered popular packages/colors anticipating sales and are starting to develop inventory. I emailed four dealers on Sunday (after being blown off by another dealer) and one called me Monday saying he had two identical cars (White/AM). By the time I drove there on Monday one had been sold.

I guess I'm looking for an unpopular color (Blue), because I'm on the waitlist at half-a-dozen dealers. If I wanted silver, I could have had it in a week.

Was at Oxnard Toyota checking on seatcover types/prices. Saw my salesman. While talking he said they had some (Prius) in stock and sales of ALL cars have slowed. Salesman and Dealership has been nice to me. PM me for the name if you wish. Carl

I posted on a different topic (Love Priuschat.com...) that I picked up my new Seaside Blue #6 two weekends ago from the same guy as PilotChris used, but I forgot to post it here. Anyway, I did indeed get $1000 off my Prius and the salesman I used was pretty straight-forward and didn't add mystery stuff on at signing. I did mention I was offered a great rate on the extended warranty from a different dealer and they matched what Troy would do (but now that I realize Troy helps out Priuschat.com a bit, so I should've given him the business to help support this awesome site).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post specifics on the dealer contact here or just in the PM. So either PM me, or somebody let me know what's the proper etiquette about specific references.

I guess, as more hybrids from different makers come out (although none so far as efficient as our baby!) and demand slows a bit, you'll be seeing more of the $1000 under MSRP (and better!) so we won't keep getting gouged.

Ya gotta love that supply & demand!

I'm also interested in Pilot Chris's central CA dealer - though I'm in no great hurry. Could someone please PM me with the name, or at least the city? Thanks!

    Hi all,
I've recieved a ton of PM's asking for info on the great $1000 under MSRP deal I received. So I hope I'm not breaking protocol by simply posting the info I've been PM-ing to everybody:

"I bought my Seaside Blue BC/pkg6 from Robert Morales at Toyota Town of Stockton He's also their internet sales guy. When it came down to signing papers, everything was as he had verbally promised, and no silly business. The savings was worth my cheap one-way ticket from LA to Sacramento! Plus, I was able to take my first road trip back to So Cal in my brand spankin' new Prius (without needing to stop for gas!)

Roberts direct number is 209.473.2513, while the dealer numbers are 209.473.2513 or 800.877.5150. The dealers web address is toyotaofstockton.com

If you talk to him, tell him Dave & wife from Los Angeles referred you on Priuschat!

Best of luck on your purchase. We love the car"

I didn't have to wait because he had the car, but even if you do put an order in, it wouldn't take more that a couple of weeks. Another person from Priuschat PM'ed me with a great response to dealing with Robert. He's really good!

Oh, and also please be aware there is more than one "Robert" at that dealership, so you may just want to use his direct number, or be sure to ask for the proper one.
