Hello! I got my new 2007 Prius yesterday! Blue with package #2. Surprised by how comfortable and incredibly quiet it is. Got 40mpg on 30 miles of city driving on my first day. Its cold here. The kids LOVE the backup camera-I'm confused by it. Its going to be a good car. BTW-got it under the December lease program offered by toyota.. I have already posted in the audio forum but I wanted to say hello here too. One of my first stops today is going to be the gas station to put air in my tires. Jon in Philadelphia
Congratulations, Jon! If you're ever at the Jersey Shore, look for a black one with a "Life is Good" magnet on the gas tank. Then stop & say hello. Enjoy your new ride!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(finkj @ Dec 20 2006, 08:50 AM) </div> That incredible quiet is what surprised me too, and I think it is one of the greatest attributes of the Prius. You also don't have the vibration of the engine constantly shaking the car. Soon you won't be able to drive anything but the Prius because you'll always be waiting for the engine to shut off at every light and stop sign. Oh, and congratulations on joining the club.
WELCOME finkj After too many times "on my knees" and inserting multiple quarters in the service station air pumps, I went to WallMart and purchased a CH 12v mini-compressor and a good, accurate tire gauge to keep my tires at my preferred pressures. In case of a nail or leak, I can now air up a tire "on the road" as well as maintining optimal pressures. The compressor and gauge fit in the left cargo area storage area. Congrats! These cars rock. Enjoy! The kids LOVE the backup camera. Mine do too. Here is a thought for the folks at Toyota. Put a camera up in the nose of the car, so one can see how far away from the parking stop you really are.
