    Greeting,

I have a 2013 Persona Series with factory 17” wheels. I prefer 15” wheels. What are my best options to make the transition?
Aftermarket rims? Used OEM rims on eBay? Find someone who wants to exchange?

    Thanks
    AJ

I'm sure you could find someone who wants to trade for those sweet gunmetal 17s.

You should probably ask them to throw in some cash into the trade too.

If possible retain the 17’s? PIP (15”) rims are sweet. Need 3rd gen centre caps.

Of course you could go aftermarket, but you could likely find used Toyota wheels in good condition.

Toyota uses three lug patterns for it's passenger cars:
    1) 4 X 100 which are used on the smallest sub-compact cars, like Yaris, Prius c, and Gen-1 Prius.

    2) 5 x 100 which are used on the following cars: Gen-2 or newer Prius (not Prius V wagon), Corolla. I don't know my Scion models very well, but whatever was Scion's equivalent of the Corolla.

    3) 5 x 114.3 which are used on the following cars: Prius V wagon, Camry, Rav4, Avalon, and I believe all Lexus cars including the RX line, but excluding the truck-like SUVs. And whatever Scion had for mid-sized vehicles.

One thing, compatible Toyota rims will have a snug-fit hub opening. If you go aftermarket they'll likely have oversized hub openings. If doing that it's best to use adapter rings. If you don't you're relying on the studs and lug nuts to centre the rim, which doesn't always work that well.

If you have a metal lathe, you can make any size adapter ring that you need. It's easy with 6061-T6 aluminum. Better yet, would be PEEK (polyetheretherkeytone) plastic, which is used for interplanetary spacecraft.

I would not go without the adapter rings.

Adapter rings are also readily available for cheap via Amazon and other online sources.

Would these refurbished Prius rims fit my 2013 Persona Series?

The rim/hub interface is the same. 3rd/4th gen too AFAIK.

Our 2010 CDN touring came with 17”, and every winter I switch to snows on 15” Corolla steel rims, no problems.
