Article on Reuters page GM to close four plants, may unload Hummer line | Reuters So, is this Bu-Bye Hummer?
funny.. I don't feel the hummer should have EVER been allowed as normal passenger vehicle.. so wasteful, so rediculous. The other day I saw one of those "semi tractor trailer personal truck things".... Amazing. What sort of mentality makes someone purchase one of those and actually DRIVE it on city streets for fun? I sure hope he was required to have a semi license for that.
I agree with you!!!!! I you want to drive a Hummer join the military.. That was the stupidest thing GM ever did
A hummer was tailgating me like mad going up a hill at about 5mph over the speed limit. There are some people who are in complete denial or who are so rich they have to flaunt it in the rest of our faces. Ugh.
I'm extremely happy to see the Free Market dictating the fate of SUV production/sales rather than artificial government constraints. I'm a bit surprised that it happened this quickly following the drastic increase in oil prices, but this had to happen eventually. It's a shame that this progress comes at the cost of American jobs, but as soon as the domestic vehicle manufacturers start to offer a competitive lineup of fuel efficient vehicles I'm sure those factory workers will have plenty of work to do.
