    From the article:
"General Motors announces plans to team with BMW and DaimlerChrysler to co-develop the world's first two-mode, gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle."

I don't really understand how the described system is any different from what Toyota already has on the market today...

The first mode sounds like it's a full hybrid system like Hybrid Synergy Drive... but the second mode doesn't really say anything except that it's better at highway speeds.

I'm not contradicting you but I do think you're splitting hairs.

I recommend a good hairspray, maybe an herbal rinse too.

Sounds like they are merely playing catchup... nothing new and earthshattering....
not impressed with the economy either..I"m still trying to figure out why anyone thinks they need more power!... unless they are pulling something... where and how much faster than 110MPH do you need to go?

At least they are doing something....
Thats better than rolling over and dying I suppose.

Seems to me that this is a bit too little and a lot too late. The Truck they put out has a barely discernable gas mileage savings and does not significantly address emissions. Maybe they should consider teaming up with VW or at least Ford. Then they are at least teaming up with an "American" car company.
Seeing as how the fact that Toyota is a "Japanese" company and GM is "America"

    Oh sure.

But I'm the wrong guy to ask. I always go to a "barber" (There are a few left in Winnipeg) and get my head shaved to a uniform 1/4 inch.

Yea.... how would you like to be one of the suckers that bought one of thier hybrids?,.... If they change the laws, they will be taxed for miles driven AND pay for lots of gas!...they get screwed on both ends!
