Gen4 Prius with Alpine Halo9 ILX-F309

I'm looking at having one installed in mine, but I can't picture how it will look in my head. Has anyone installed an Alpine Halo9 in a Gen4 Prius that can show me a picture of it?

 

I'm having mine installed on Monday and will post some pictures for anyone viewing this thread in the future. I'm also going to connect a Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB) to the HDMI output using this circuit. I'll be tapping into these empty fuses, I used a voltmeter to confirm.

 

The driver seat is towards the left in the picture. The battery is towards the right, where ignition is circled.

 

The install guys mounted it too high, so its partially covering the vents. I'm hoping to have them remount it before I take those pictures.

 

It's going back in to be adjusted this Friday. Here are some pictures of what it looks like now.

 

TL;DR: It's great, but nowhere near worth the price.

Pros:

• The huge screen with the backup camera is great.
• Android Auto/Car Play. I'd consider it a must for any car after 2016. I have no idea why Toyota is taking so long to implement it. This was the main reason I replaced the stock stereo.
• HDMI port. You could plug your Nintendo Switch, a DVD player, or your computer in.
• Maestro RR. It costs ~$100 extra, but it's nice to see your tire pressure and other useful statistics of your car in real-time.
• Brightness. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see the screen, but it's not an issue at all. My windows are tinted to legal limit though.
• Rear Camera. In other cars I've had aftermarket stereos installed on, it's taken too long to show the camera feed after shifting into reverse immediately after starting the car. There is no perceivable delay (imo) that is greater than the delay present in the stock stereo.

Cons:

• Price. I'm still having buyers remorse on this, months later. All these features are nice, but it wasn't worth it. Including discounts, the entire thing ended up costing $1,450, which is WAY more than I intended on spending.
• Equalizer. It's so bad I don't even use it, I use the Poweramp equalizer on my phone as a work around.
• Resolution. You can see the pixels from the headrest. For $1000 dollars, this is unacceptable.

Oddities:

• The install guys did not use the factory microphone, and now one is sticking out near my rear-view mirror. When I asked, they said that the factory microphone often has issues, so they don't use it.
• There is a plastic rubbing against other plastic sound when the car is moving. I'm not sure if this is because of an install issue or if they all have this issue.
• I'm having issues with the bass being way to quite, even with it cranked in the stereo settings. This may be caused by an issue i'm having with my subwoofer amplifier though. I should know for sure this weekend.

 

It does not have wireless Android Auto or Car Play, which is, again, ridiculous considering the price.
The equalizer sucks because it puts humps on the points instead of just forming a line between two points. You can adjust the width of the humps, but it doesn't really help. The points are also locked between certain frequencies which is super annoying. I've tinkered with it a lot and haven't been as happy as just using the equalizer on PowerAmp.
If I set the equalizer on PowerAmp to flat, adjust the bass to +10 in the settings and crank the stereo equalizer in the low ends, it still is underwhelming compared to before I had the stereo installed. I'm really hoping it's just my subwoofer amp, I've been having other issues that would indicate it's the amp too.
I'll ask the install guys about it this weekend. Thank you for the advice!
