From the datasheet, do I read that the middle rear seat CAN'T be used for a child restraint?

There's no LATCH (lower anchors) in the rear centre seat so you can only use those that don't require it (I'm guessing booster seats??). There are top tethers behind all 3 seats, however.

Thanks - it's several decades since I used child restraints (grandchildren are nearly out of them too now days) - it looks like the technology of child seats has changed since then - we only had top tethers then.

Agreed - looks impressive. I had expected it to be awarded 5 stars, but the videos are interesting. The pole test is pretty brutal!

My wife says "why not? - that does not make any sense as it is the safest seating spot". We currently have 3 car seats across I do not recall if middle has the lower clasp. Right now we have 1.5 yr grand-daughter in middle rear facing.

Tideland- does this represent a change over Gen2/3?

We have the Diono Radian seats which are skinnier to allow 3 across. do not know if they are latchless.

Hmm I can't remember. I'll check it the next time I go out to the car.
