gen2 vs. gen3 hybrid battery replacement

I've replaced the main battery on my 2004 prius...it was no big deal, and works good. I have a friend who is looking to have someone replace the gen3 main battery. I heard they were different, but don't know how extensive the difference is. Can anyone let me know if it's basically the same effort to replace the gen3 battery, or significantly different?

I believe it's about the same, but when someone was helping me with my gen2 replacement, they emphasized that the battery replacement for gen3 was very different...not sure how true it is, because from the pictures, it looks to be accessed in about the same place in the trunk/back set area, but the placement of the stuff surrounding the battery was different, so I'm not sure if it's as easy to do.
