Hey all, noob here Great treasury of knowledge, I am impressed like hell concerning what you can do to your Prius. I had a Cobra and was busy modding that, now I am delighted to see it's doable on a Prius, too Anyhoo: Anyone know wheter the bolt pattern on the Gen III Prius is the same as on the Gen II? Meaning: Can I take the (pretty cool if you ask me) 17" rims of the Gen III and put them on a Gen II? Thanks ingo...
Yes, the Gen3 rims fit on the Gen2. Following is copy of my post. ----- 2004-2009 Prius 15X6JJ: 5X100mm PCD, 45mm offset 16X6JJ: 5X100mm PCD, 45mm offset 2010 Prius 15X6J: 5X100mm PCD, 45mm offset 17X7J: 5X100mm PCD, 50mm offset Ken@Japan
You could do better (lighter) and cheaper by using an aftermarket wheel. Even the Scion tC wheels look better on the GenII but are very heavy.
Well, I have to disagree. The Scion TC wheel is OK, I even had them on my Gen II for about 1.5 years. But it is a heavy wheel and I ultimately went with something much lighter, Ray's Gram Lite wheels 17". As for the Gen III 17" wheel I really like it. It is an example, for me, of a factory wheel I would likely keep on my car when I get a Gen III V Prius. Very simple, clean design which looks easy to maintain.
Thanks for the replies, folks. I got the same info from a dealer I asked. And I agree with cairo94507.... Those rims look pretty decent for factory ones, and I had a guy sell them here for 500 bucks, whith tires, which is pretty cool. So I guess I'm gonna go for them.
