A great web site to get all of the specs for wheel sizes for all cars, including the dimensions for the center cap for the Gen 4 Prius (which I am 3-D printing) is wheel-size---com/size/toyota/prius/2016/ (where the three dashes are replaced by a period).

Let us know how the 3D printing center caps turns out. It's impossible to find one that fit this damn wheel..

The 17" centre cap doesn't work? Seems an obvious first resort, too obvious, as in everyone's been there and done that?

The part number for the correct center cap is 42603-52170. Just google that number and you will find several Toyota parts vendors that can supply it. It's black with the Toyota symbol in chrome. Looks nice. I paid $16.50 each for a set of four. You may find a better price, but until the aftermarket catches up, they are going to be a little pricey.

Can you take a couple pics of them installed on your 2016 Prius 15" wheels?

See if these Dropbox links work. You should be able to click on "view image" for each one. If this doesn't work, I'll figure out how to upload the pictures directly.

Yes, you really have to shove on it to get it to snap into place. I think it will be difficult to remove, probably using a plastic trim remover.

The one easy way to remove the caps is with the wheel off the car, just push from behind with something like a hammer handle.

Sounds like no chance of falling out or accidental knock out. Thats good.

X4 with shipping to me is $81.77, I'm gonna have to wait for the sun to come out, so that I can make sure all my rims look good with the hubcaps off. If so, I'll probably order them.

To me it seams that any color of plastic hubcap, still looks like a plastic hubcap.

When my car was delivered, I took one look at the plastic covers and took them off as soon as I got home. The wheel underneath is clean and straightforward and only needs the center cap to make it look like it belongs there. Why they put those trashy plastic covers on is beyond me. Eleven years ago, I made the same decision with my 2005 Gen II. Those old plastic covers now share space with the new ones on top of a cabinet in the back of the garage. (With the older car, the center caps were already in place.)

My guess is that the price of the 2016 center caps will come down at some point. The older versions can be found for as little as $15 for a full set of four on Amazon and eBay. The new version is a little more elaborate in construction, but there's no reason it should continue to cost as much as it does. It's also possible that something from another Toyota might fit, or be made to fit, and be available at a lower price point.

Oh, I assumed that #42603-52170 was a part for another Toyota vehicle and just happened to fit. So is this the Official Toyota Part for the stock 15" wheels?

I ordered some from a dealer in MA and was told they are on backorder and to check back in 3 days for an update.

Yes, it is the correct part number for the 2016 Prius. Most of the online parts suppliers allow you to include your VIN to verify that the fit is correct, and that will confirm that it is the correct part. I was also given the number by my dealer, who also wanted $28 each for the caps!

Thans Jon. I ordered them for $16.15 each. Ironic that one's local dealer would charge $28 for them yet another dealer sells them online for 42% off that.

I didn't include my VIN # because I thought they were for a different Toyota model and didn't want to confuse the parts guy!
