I know this probably qualifies for the 'Stupid-Question-Of-The Day', but I cannot find an answer in the Gen 2 Forum. In both the Asia parts exploded diagram, and the Service Manual (BC 217/8), the location of the connector for the Front Speed Sensor for the ABS system is vague, and only shows the front LHS set-up. Sooo... before I start pulling things apart:
Q1: Are the connectors for the front speed sensors behind the front fender liners (but still inside the wheel well?) Or, are they inside the engine compartment?
Q2: If the L&RHS Front Speed Sensor are in the engine compartment, what do I have to remove to get at them?
Thanks for your patience - if it wasn't for this forum, my Prius would be in the shed housing rodents ;-)

Theyre bolted 10mm into the aluminum hub . Remove bolt withdraw sensor clean end off.

Sorry! I should have been clearer. I'm trying to locate the connector (that connects to the ABS & ant-slip system - not the sensor itself) at the other end of the front wheel speed sensor's harness. Is it underneath the fender liner, but still inside the front fender well? Or is it in the engine compartment above the front fender. And if it is in the engine compartment, what do I have to remove to get at the LHS & RHS connectors? It's not clear in the line drawings in the shop manual if the connector is inside the fender well, or inside the engine compartment, plus they only show the LHS harness & sensor, not the RHS.
    Thanks again!

I expect that LHS or RHS wouldn't matter for this type of thing. On my 2006 US (LHS), the connectors are covered by the fender liners, roughly 12:00 o'clock position above the wheel.

I would remove the liner to access.

Thanks for the guidance - much appreciated.
Turned-out to be one of the rear wheel speed sensors in the wheel bearing hub.
    This forum is great!
