NEW YORK - A sports utility vehicle driving in Brooklyn collapsed into a large sinkhole after a water main break caused the street to give way early Monday, authorities said. Story Here>>>
Ouch, though I've seen worse. In my hometown, a sinkhole formed that swallowed a full size pickup and about half of a police car (nighttime and it wasn't noticed until too late). We had one here after some bad flooding in January large enough to fit a snow-plow in. I believe it was approximately 25 ft across and 30 ft. deep, though I may be remembering the numbers backwards.
Please remember that this news category is only for Prius and other Hybrid news, not general car postings which should probably go in the "house of pancakes", or "other cars" forum. Dave.
One less SUV on the road: good riddance Seriously, what connection does this have to the Prius and/or hybrid cars in general?
Actually, I think "Environmental Discussion" has a nice ring to it. Way to go, Gaia!! Fighting back one SUV at a time.
The article said it was resting on a gas main. So here's the real story. "Hopelessly addicted SUVs have taken to digging holes in the streets just to get to some more gas"
