MY18 Prime. Low fuel telltale turned on yesterday.
Tried to refuel this morning at around -20 celcius. Pump clicked after ~1/2 gallons. Coffee hadn't kicked in yet, I just reposition the handle and restart the refill at full speed.
    Overflow. Oops...
I added about one more gallon, waiting for 15-30 seconds everytime the pump clicked. Took me 8-10 tries.
I was right next to the dealer, so I stopped. They checked the codes (none), did an evap test (successful). Told me to use a different pump and to come back if the issue reappears.
Last full fillup was in December. Car was parked indoor at most twice since.
I'm curious to hear if anyone has experienced something similar.
    Thanks.

Are you sure you didn't hit the fuel door latch? If you accidentally hit the fuel latch, you have to reinsert the fuel cap, close the filler door and restart the car to reset it. Stop it and try again.

    Wut ?!? o_O:confused:

I'll be damned. Wow. THANK YOU!!!

It's very possible I bumped it. Or as they write it that the nozzle boot did.
It's also very possible that valve was simply frozen and didn't open.

I'm very tempted to stop at the dealership tomorrow and show that page to them. I'd bet they're not aware of it.

And mea culpa - I didn't read the whole manual. Damn...

    Thanks again.

After couple.months finally work constantly. Have pump almost out of FILLER NECK. Requires two hands. One to pull the rubber neck on filler nozzle. Then other hand to lean pump out enough to let it vent out when filling and you will hear the gas flowing into filler tube. There's a outer large hole then a smaller inner hole about 2 inches in. The 2ND INNER HOLE is where the pump nozzle needs to be just inside barely only enough to let fuel flow and air release. I will try to get a picture next time and post up.
I was successfully able to fill to 7 gallons each time before the tank begin to belch or bubble. You can hear clear as day gasoline bubbling/ belching and if you continue to force feed fuel it will SPILL OUT!!!

Do you think that your tank with a rubber bladder on Gen2 is the same as the fuel tank of Prius Prime?

My story goes - a few winters ago, I pulled into a station I hadn't been to before, pushed the refuel button on the dash, went to start the pump, than saw the sign saying pay at cashier. Went inside to pay up, had to wait a few minutes for the mechanic who was working in the shop. I payed, the mechanic went back to work after turning on the pump. I went back out to fill up and I couldn't get the pump nozzle into the fill pipe.

It'd probably been close to 5 minutes total, between the time I pushed the dash refuel button til I went to insert the pump nozzle. The fuel door was open and the gas cap was off the whole time.
But there is another electronic gizmo inside the fill pipe that closes the entrance to the fuel tank besides or should I say under the gas cap.

I stood there scratching my head for a few minutes, trying to figure out how to put gas in the tank. lol
Looking cross eyed into the fill tube, poking the nozzle at the fill tube.
I'm sure a few pictures of me at that time would have keepers.

A lucky guess, I guess, I thought just push the refuel button again, sure enough that opened that electronic gizmo cap thingy in the fill pipe and the nozzle slipped right in, no poking around this time.

New car tech events lists ...
My first flat tire, and I couldn't find where the jack was. I couldn't find the page in the manual for it either.
I found it a week or two later after posting about it here.
Instead of being under the drivers seat (like in the Gen 3 Prius Plugin) it was now behind a plastic cover under the back seat.
