    Hey guys,

Im a longtime lurker, my prius is almost mint...with 226k on it.

I just recently got a code from it P0302, so I thought I'd check
the fuel injectors, I took them out and cannot reinstall them
with out them leaking all over....i removed and replaced new orings on the top and cranked down the bolts really hard...and still a bunch
leaking...is there a trick I should know about?

    Please help guys!:(

IIRC, you should lube the o-rings lightly before installing them. Maybe you are damaging the o-ring during installation? Also, don't crank down the bolts as hard as you can - you should use a torque wrench to tighten them to spec. The bolts holding the fuel delivery pipe (aka fuel rail) are supposed to be torqued at 14 ft-lb.

I have attached a snippet from the service manual.

I hope you changed spark plugs and swapped igniters first to rule them out?

I think I got it guys. I just started it up with the air filter box off and saw that
injector 2 was spraying like crazy so I changed that oring again it was kinda mangled,
even though it was brand new. So far so good....just erased codes....and will drive and see what happens! Thanks again dogfriend and seilerts!
