Front Left Control Panel - Material Blisters

Hi All -
The material (I guess it's plastic) on the control panel on the driver's door has blistered. This is the second time it's happened. Fortunately, the repair is covered by the warranty but am I doomed to having this issue reoccur? The blistered area is on the side where I rest my knee when I drive. I live in Florida so I wear shorts all the time. I imagine it could be caused by the oil in my skin. Any ideas? Is there a coating I can put on the material to prevent reoccurrence?
