Here's the problem, its 55 degrees outside and I don't want the windows open due to traffic noise. The A/C is off, I want the fan on low. Now unless I set the temp to MAX COLD I get heat from the vents. Is there any setting I'm missing? I've search and this seems to be the only solution, is that correct? Thanks!

    That's a good question.

The air always comes in across the engine block, or so I've always thought. In this case, there would be no way to get unheated air. Also, MAX COLD is still warmer than 55ºF which means that the programming of the climate controls would try to condition the air to the appropriate temperature.

Just make sure you are drawing in outside air and I think you get what you get.

When you select MAX COLD, you can detect the changing of the air-flow path internally (a huge difference from the 65 setting). That gets you as close to outside air through the vents as possible.

Opening a window is the only way to get any closer. But then you'll lose the advantage of having air pass through the hepa-filter.

Thanks for the relpies. That what I figured. I did notice the difference between 65 and MAX COLD. The filter is another reason I wanted to keep the windows shut.

On another note, is there a way to change the settings for temp. from F to C? Thanks!
