I was in my garage opened the front passenger door, put the contact in acc mode to put the radio on, press once again to start the car, then the lights go on (because the garagelight was not on). Press again on the start button to shut the car down. The lights stay on when i close the passenger door. Now i had to open the drivers door and close it to shut down the headlamps...
Automatic headlamp shutoff is actuated by opening the drivers door. Some people have discovered this the hard way when exiting through the passenger side. Tom

Not only automatic headlamp... DRL (daytime running lights) also requires you exit through the driver side. At least here in Canada on my Gen 2.
