Hello PriusChat community. Been a lurker for very long time. Wealth of knowledge here. Very much appreciated. I am putting up for sale my 2012 PiP with 6KW Plug In Supply kit. The car and the kit have both been very reliable. The car has 74k miles. Carfax shows one accident to the front from previous owner. Repair was done pretty good because I can't tell from looking under the hood. Title is clean (no salvage) so impact must have been very light. Interior of car is like new. No stains anywhere. Absolutely clean. I got the car in January 2017 for my commute to work as they had just installed free charging stations. The Plug In Supply kit I purchased in April of 2016 for a 2007 Prius I had at the time. Immediately after the charging stations were installed. To get the PiP was a no brainer. My commute is 40 miles round trip. I charge the car and the kit at home. 10 miles before I reach work, I turn the kit off so the car is depleted when I get there. The kit alone gives me 20-24 miles so I use 10 miles going and 10 miles coming back from the kit. I charge the car battery at home and at work for the other 20 miles. This all works fine and dandy. BUT! Im left wanting more. I don't want to charge at home. That, and the fact that the kit is charged separate via extension cord. If I would have access to wall outlet at work (airport) then I would not sell and charge the car and kit at work. But thats not the case. So right now I've reached the conclusion that 2016-17 Volt is the best fit for me. I can fill up at work for my entire commute with some left over. Take a look at the pictures. The car is very clean. Looks very nice. I will also consider selling kit separate if interested. I'm asking $14k Car and kit together. Price slightly negotiable.
wow, sounds like a good deal! looks like the battery takes up about the same space as the prime. all the best!
Company called Plug In Supply use to make a kit to add more capacity for longer EV range. I've driven as much as 34 miles in EV mode depending on driving style and terrain.
Oh, No. It’s still available. I have two ads on eBay. One for the car and kit together and one for the kit alone. We’ll see how it goes.
