I just got back from the dealer after purchasing my first Prius. It's the 2011 III with Navigation in Winter Gray Metallic. Driving home was a bit strange since I kept focusing on the MPG gauge to see how I was doing.

Nice, welcome aboard! Be sure to read over the owner's manual... lots of good info in there.

    Welcome to PC. :)

I love the color! I wish it was an option when I bought my car.

D on'tworry about the mpg. Just drive it and enjoy it for awhile before you start trying out hypermiling techniques. Don't worry if your mpg isn't as high as others. There are too many variables to consider and in the end there is not a huge difference in savings between 40mpg and 50mpg.

Welcome aboard! I use my Garmin a lot and would always find myself focusing on the estimated time of arrival and would literally drive like a wild man just to shave 3 or 4 minutes off the time. Burning gas just to get somewhere a few minutes earlier has been replaced by a much more rewarding experience of keeping my MPG as high as possible. Plus, I'm much more relaxed and stress-free when I arrive!
