Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned in his WWDC keynote today that (undisclosed) "major car manufacturers" would be selling cars with SIRI type functionality within 12 months. Since iOS will soon have SIRI that gives audible turn-by-turn directions, it seems a fair guess something similar will make it into cars. I am elated; it certainly explains why Apple went through the trouble and expense of making a competing maps app rather than rely on Google. With all respect due Entune -- RIP. Forward thinking wild speculation --- I hope the entire Toyota software experience is replaced with an Apple tablet.
