There are non-EPA tests that have 'inflated' range values. The presenter compares it to the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450(?) which has an EPA range of 340 miles at 31 kWh/100 mi.

I'm not a fan of the body shape because of the many folds and angles. Efficient cars should have smooth curves in an aerodynamic shape. There is almost no taper to the back which typically recovers energy from the air passing around the body.

IIRC - didn't they give up all Marketing / sales in the USA around 1991 or so?

Fewer parts to screw up or break.

French engineering is taught at the Rube Goldberg University. Brilliant when it works:

True but you could compare them to other WLTP numbers.

Also, at 99kWh, it’s easily 300, if not, 350 miles EPA.

You'll have to lift that weight because I found Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) in adequate.

Many years ago, I looked at WLTP and did not find the engineering details the EPA provides. For example, the roll down coefficients that map the drag force as a function of speed. That is how I compare different EVs and other vehicles to know whether they have any merit and where their weak points are.

Since October 2005 and my first Prius, a used 2003, I have been a student of accurate vehicle research, testing and data. So when GreenHybrid 'collapsed', I came to PriusChat instead of CleanMPG or other fluff forums. So I also follow:

I think they've been selling a PHEV version for some time now.
    Except the ones from Japan.

There also different WLTP tests for smaller, lower power 'cars'.
Those details are going to be with however actually administers the test within the perspective market.

Canada and S. Korea use EPA test cycles, but could be following their own rules for the roll down tests. Same can be the case with WLTP ratings from different countries.

Don't be jealous, Bob. You seem to be agonized in envy when you see these beautiful new BEVs. ;)

It is only an understatement to say that Peugeot 3008 is way better-looking than the Tesla SUVs, but then, that is setting the bar extremely low, as every time I see a Tesla SUV on the road, I almost throw up , especially if it is a white one.

I’ll wait for EPA numbers and the roll down metrics.

Says the guy driving a ride often referenced by other prius drivers as looking like crab mandibles from the front or the Predator from the movie. Perfect example of subjective view of tolerable looks. Even the predator was a perfect example of a face only a mother could love

Ha ha, I can't make the connection with the Predator, but a car that looked like that would actually be cool.

Hmm, it turns out that I haven't seen the last three Predator movies.

… if it is ever sold in the US. Perhaps Stellantis can make an American version of it.

But then with the UAW asking for a 46% pay raise and reducing the workweek to 32 hours, I don't know if they will be able to make any American cars.

Lots of ex UAW workers went over to Tesla (as did lits of poached nasa workers) - & they don't seem to have a problem working for forty hours a week .... but when you're used to the government eroding the Dollar by increasing the money supply so they can give away $600 a pop here & there, who needs to work anyway.

So, I realized that you are referring to the original Gen 4 non-plug-in Prius. The Gen 4 plug-in Prius Prime, which came a year later, is a completely different-looking car, and it is a very good-looking car.
