I picked up my new Prius yesterday! :car: It only had 3 miles on it when I left the dealership and immediately drove 30 miles to the shop with which I had an appointment to have VentureShield installed to curb the rock damage to the front. While they were installing it, they found a tiny chip on a lower corner of the hood. Apparently, you can't install this stuff soon enough. It's possible it was there before, but who knows. I've read the owner's manual (package#2) and I have a question for those of you with more experience. Page 202 of my manual says, "The temperature for the driver and passenger seats can be set separately". Is this true? If so, how? Either I'm not finding it or the manual neglects to mention how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. I'm very excited and still have a lot to learn about my new car. This board has already been a great help. I've already adjusted the locks to unlock all doors from the driver's door and disabled the beeping for reverse (thanks to the person who posted that they had to remove their foot from the brake when going from R to P while doing the procedure--it only worked after I tried that). I also installed side decals to my car. I always have to do something to personalize my car. I'll post a picture later. Thanks everyone!
Welcome and congratulations! What color and package? When will you post the pictures? Have you named your car? Why did you buy? Will you name your next child "Pri"?
It's a 2008 package#2 Prius. I'm not really into naming my cars. I purchased it because I was tired of paying $70/week for gas for my 4WD Dodge Ram. We like having a truck for hauling stuff for home improvement projects. But with the price of gas the way it is, we could rent a truck for those times and still save money. Since I've been making reverse car payments for several years (since paying off the truck) and with the truck still worth a descent trade-in (fast depreciating due to it's gas mileage), I was able to pay cash for my Prius!!! First time I've ever had a new car and no car payments! :bounce: As I mentioned in my first post, I always like to personalize my vehicles, so I've already added the side decals.
I too have been wondering about this. Bummer! I've seen high end cars with this feature and it would have been nice. Guess I sort of figured they were referring to the fact that you can direct the air flow by moving the vents. Hey, Enjoy the car. Nice color! Bob
Welcome stevendwatson and great decals on your new wheels. Looks really good ! So you think the go-fast stripes are going to push the fuel economy towards the stratosphere ?
Sure! Today I got stuck in heavy traffic on the highway, sat there looking at the Energy screen as I inched forward on electric only, and thought, "Hey, I'm saving money!" It's a whole new world with a Prius. :car:
