Folding E-scooter
Not quite sure how to handle this one:
I like the concept but I'm a little leery of a startup. Yet folks put $1,000 down for a Model 3 Tesla. Still, this is the solution for the gap between EVSE and places we want to shop. Hopefully our hard working, well-paid moderators can figure out where this belongs. For me, it was news but . . .

Can Toyota's New Plug-In Prius Peel Off Impatient Tesla Customers Waiting For Model 3?
Compared to a Volt though, they might be able to steal some sales away due to the Toyota reliability reputation, as well as some folks still harboring anti-GM feelings due to the EV-1 debacle, and the Prime being cheaper on sticker price (and... -

DOT Announces EV Charge Station Corridors Program
President Obama Is Building a National Network of Highway Chargers for Electric Vehicles | WIRED
"With just a few months before a new regime sweeps in, Obama’s Department of Transportation announced one of its final moves in that eight-year effort. It is funding a network of “electric vehicle charging corridors”—25,000 miles and 35 states of highway where EV drivers will reliably find places to plug in, every 50 miles or fewer. In July, the DOT announced $4.5 billion in guaranteed loans for folks willing to build the powerful fast chargers that can charge a car like a Nissan Leaf up to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. And this week, the Federal Highway Administration officially christened these stretches of highway as the national “Alternative Fuel and Electric Charging” network."

ITM hydrogen station
I have issues with this but here it is:
As someone who has put 1 and 1.5 kW inverters in two Prius, I have a big problem with the claim that the Mirai is configured to supply house power. I don't believe it but welcome credible source that it exists in the North American, USA model Prius/Mirai or any others.

Nissan Note e-Power hybrid
Nissan Note e-POWER is an EV that you can't plug in - Autoblog
quote...
"What's interesting about this Note e-POWER is that, despite effectively being an electric car with a gas generator, it doesn't have the option of being charged – it has no plug-in port. Instead, it relies entirely on the engine for electricity. While this may seem odd in a world where plug-in hybrids like the Volt and the Prius Prime exist, as well as the range-extended BMW i3, this Note doesn't have much battery to charge anyway. The battery pack in this car is 1/20 the size of that in the Leaf. The main advantage here is that the...telmo744 Nov 3, 2016 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 5,971 Likes: 1 Replies: 43 -

VW Defends ICE For Jobs
Source: Electronic vehicles and auto manufacturing jobs - Business Insider
He pointed out that electric motors and drive trains consist of fewer components and that their production requires fewer workers than the production of vehicles with combustion engines.
There are dumb reasons and then ones that remind us that 'those who the Gods would destroy, they first make insane.'
Yes, he is right because it helps to explain how Tesla was able to build cars and become a success. Tesla does not have to build out the huge infrastructure needed for an engine.
Note, I don't have EV envy because over the Labor Day weekend, my wife, her dogs, and I drove 1,400 miles round trip between Huntsville, AL and Stillwater, OK. There is no practical, cross-country EV charging infrastructure in between.

Colonial Pipeline II
Source: 1 Dead in Colonial Gasoline Pipeline Explosion in Alabama - NBC News
One person was killed and five others were injured in explosion along the Colonial Pipeline in rural Alabama Monday, not far where it burst last month, authorities said.
Colonial pipeline said in a written statement Monday night that a contract crew working along a gasoline pipeline in Shelby County "experienced an incident when the trackhoe it was using hit the line."
"Gasoline was ignited and caused a fire, which continues to burn," the statement said.
. . .
The explosion shortly after 3 p.m. sent flames soaring over the forest about a mile west of where the pipeline burst in September, Gov. Robert Bentley said in a statement. That rupture led to gasoline shortages across the South.

Toyota Strongly Hints At Plans To Develop All Electric Vehicles
Strongest sounding language to date:
Warming to lithium-ion, Toyota charges up its battery options| Reuters
"It's a tall order to develop a lithium-ion car battery which can perform reliably and safely for 10 years, or over hundreds of thousands of kilometers," said Koji Toyoshima, the chief engineer for the Prius.
"We have double braced and triple braced our battery pack to make sure they're fail-safe ... It's all about safety, safety, safety," he told Reuters.
...
Falling battery prices have enabled Toyota to develop its more compact, efficient battery, while also adding more sophisticated controls into its battery pack, Toyoshima said. Toyota declined to say more on its costs.
...
"Developing lithium-ion batteries for both hybrids and plug-ins will enable us to also produce all-electric cars in the future," said Toyoshima said. "It makes sense to have a range... -
