    Gen4 forum,
After only 2500 miles I now like my Gen4 more than any other
    car I've ever owned.

Don't have to list all the positives but one thing I miss is
a power tailgate and I really don't really care for the gloss
black sparkly finish on the console.

Has anyone tried to dull this down possibly by sanding it with
something like 1200 grit sandpaper or painting over it with some
    eggshell or matt paint?

You should probably wait until after warranty period is over. Modding will most likely void it.

However, I do believe they have blackout stickers for the interior to change its appearance.

Modding plastic panels or adding a power liftgate will not void warranty.

Plastic interior panels I would at the most spray with matt-black Plasti-Dip, which is removable. If possible remove pieces to spray, and if not mask very carefully. Would definitely not start sanding.

There’s a thread here with a power lift kit, $650.

Art car the interior! I hated the plastic interior of my 2010 and thoughts of painting over it, or more...

I have a single piece of bismuth fixed to the dashboard of on my 2016. I
