I have a 2010 prius II with about 150k miles on it that I’m looking to sell and wondering how much it’s worth. It’s got a blown head gasket, and was driven like that for at least six months so might have some other damage to the engine too but I haven’t had it looked at by a mechanic since finding out about the head gasket. It also has a pretty big dent right behind the driver’s side rear tire, luckily just cosmetic (doesn’t affect the wheel or the doors at all). I don’t believe the EV battery has been replaced. Just curious what y’all think might be a fair asking price? I’m selling in the Philly area. Thanks for your thoughts!
I don't know the market in your area... Original Owner? Always parked in garage? No Rust? If yes to all of these maybe you could get just under $4K. But if you fixed the dent and did the head gasket you'd could get near $10K. So if you're friends with someone who can make these repairs affordable, re-investing in it would be smartest path forward. Of course that's assuming engine still runs fairly well. The 6 months of driving with failed gasket could of bent a rod and that'd drop price even more.
Dump some leak stop in the radiator tank and call it a sealed gasket and drop the keys off at carmax or to carvana. The priuschat moral police will pull me over again for this recommendation.
