So apparently there's this tiny little button hidden behind the left side of the steering wheel that turns off the charge timer. I had to burn almost 10 ounces of gasoline today because my car didn't charge last night.

The thing is, I don't remember pushing the button. Anythng else that could have prevented my charge? None of my circuit breakers tripped but there may have been a momentary power glitch during the night.

It's been working fine for a couple of weeks. I may have turned it off, but not knowingly.

That switch only allows setting of the charge timer and cannot turn off charging. Press the button and see if you (1.) Set a charging event, which can be deleted, or (2.) 'Charge now' is turned off.

This screen also comes up when you turn off the car.

Okay so this has happened to me a couple of more times in the last couple of weeks including two days in a row. I AM DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT.

    1) There is nothing wrong with the power supply.. No circuits tripped and "power" light comes on.

    2) Nothing is wrong with the charger apparatus. I was able to use the "charge now" setting successfully yesterday (but I'd rather charge between midnight an 7AM when it's cheaper).

    3) The timer is set correctly "charge for 7AM departure" daily. "Charge now" has been off (except when I used it yesterday).

    4) The car lock is set correctly (does the charge timer have a separate clock)?.

    5) When I plug it in, the light inside the charge port blinks about five times. As far as I can tell from the manual this means the timer is engaged, right? Or is it supposed to keep flashing until it starts charging?

WHAT I THINK might be happening-- sometimes I need to turn the car back on after I plug it in (to close windows or something, for example). I've done it's happened at least two of the three times I've had a fail and my memory is faulty for the others.. Does that bleep up the "next charging event" somehow?

So last night -- this was my fault-- I woke up at 1:15 AM and saw it wasn't yet charging for a 7 AM departure. So I switched it to "charge now". I woke up at 6 AM and it wasn't charging. I panicked for several minutes until I realized that the reason was that it had finished. From minimum to full in 4.75 hours. So maybe the timer would have worked if I'd let it alone.

I'm going to experiment with a different set time (like "finish at 2 AM") so I can catch it while it's supposed to be charging and see if it does.

i wonder why it is finishing so early for a 7am end time. that's not good for the battery, and the reason they provide a timer in the first place.

Mine consistently tends to finish about 35 minutes early from the set departure time.

Is your clock set correctly for AM/PM? If it is at 7PM when it is actually 7AM, that would explain your problem.

Well it worked last night on timer so the clock must be set right.

All I can think of is somehow I accidentally cancel it somehow.

I couldn't figure out why mine wasn't charging, and calling Toyota was no help. Finally, I deducted, by looking at the graph above the scheduling screen, that the time was not set correctly (even though it was showing the correct time on the scheduler.) There are two different clock settings on this car - one is set by using the steering wheel buttons, and the other is set via the display screen. The dealer had set my vehicle timer off by 12 hours (am/pm)
You would think, since the scheduler is an app, that it would use the time within that app rather than the vehicle time, but nope.

Anne, did you ever figure out your problem?

My car is just back from the body shop, and for the first time, didn't charge according to the schedule. I checked, the charging schedule is still there. I'm wondering what else I should consider.

Check the date/time, especially the AM/PM setting.
