I wanted to ask if anyone had dealings with this company, as I'm having some issues, and was fairly blindsided by the latest.

Would appreciate any opinions, experiences, etc..

    Thanks much,

    Ray~

Are you saying that there is a big difference between making sausage and the Prius battery "remanufacturing" process?? :ROFLMAO:

I'll give the guy credit for buying seconds from the company store and reselling them.

You know your movie's bad when the MPAA won't go after the pirate.

I hope that's not how he spells "alternative"--but it probably is.

I felt dirty just visiting his store.

    Why?
Why do people turn to random sellers as opposed to trusted or vetted members of the PriusChat community?

Call me and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
Basically use a trusted company or a new battery from Toyota.

Maybe the guy also sells one of these to hook up to the HV battery:

    Thanks all.

It was a poor choice, in retrospect, but at the time, financially, I could do little else.

Apparently there is some cross-boarder deal happening, as it costs about $130 to ship the battery to him in NY, via UPS, and now I've been told the "warranty replacement center" is in Canada, so I need pay $250 for international shipping of the replacement battery.

In the original listing, it says that shipping is not covered- fine, but it does not say that when you are attempting to replace a defective battery that was originally sent to you, that you will need pay for international shipping for your next roll of the dice. Bait & switch, after the fact.

Beyond frustrating, and I doubt Ebay would even be interested to know about it, much less cover anything.

    Ray~

What was the purchase date, and how did you pay the seller? eBay and PayPal are quite buyer-friendly these days, so it wouldn't hurt to file a claim if you're still within the time limit.

Dang. Sorry to hear about that.
Interestingly, I talked to another guy about a low-cost Canada rebuilder just the other day.
I hope it is not the same rebuilder... but I bet it probably is. Ugh.

These non-name places are giving reputable guys a black eye.

If it was a recent purchase, you may still have recourse.

Unfortunately, not so recent. Purchased in June, began throwing codes in September, and finally got it back to him in November (after switching modules, etc.).

It's the matter of the "hidden fee"- no communication regarding one needing pay twice the amount for shipping, due to the thing coming from Canada. Caveat Emptor.
