I've finally (I think  ) opted to forgo the NAV system due to reasons that don't need rehashing; I think we've all read the numerous opinions against -- as well as for -- and we all have to make up our own minds as to what is "worth it".

The assumption of this thread is that the aftermarket would be a better value than OEM (whether one thinks so or not). :)

Anyway, would anyone who has or has seen built-in aftermarket nav systems for any Prius care to comment as to how well the aftermarket system seemed to aesthetically fit in with the rest of the dashboard?

    Thanks for your input.

Pics of installed units, as always, would be greatly appreciated.

Currently there is not a dash kit for the 2010 prius. The only way for you to get a navi head unit installed is have a stereo shop or yourself custom build one from scratch. I am currently getting this done but I am going to take sometime to finish.
Anyway, if you are looking only to get navigation and not concerned about audio, I suggest you go and get a garmin or some other portable navi system. It will cost you far less and time. I use a garmin 765T which is a 4.3 widescreen portable navi system w/ bluetooth, mp3 player and picture viewer. Market price: $350 and up.
Good think about this navi is that it comes with free lifetime traffic and the navi is the best that I have seen and used. With the audio out, you can connect it to the audio in line under the arm rest and walllaaaa you have bluetooth sound through your speakers. Make calls, listen to steaming music too.

I will post my progress on my current thread on my build.

    Good luck!!
