With the Enginer conversion I intend to use the standard EV button and I would like to get the Ready/IGN and the GND connection from the HV compartment.
Can anyone tell me where these wires are located and what color they have?
    I have a Gen2 2006 Prius.

    Thanks, Floyd

I finally separated the EV switch from the Enginer switch. I used a volt and ohm meter and then a test light to be sure I picked the right wires and to complete with the most number of steps I could come up with. In my case, it was the White Wire. I though I wrote all this down but looking at my records I did not. When I did it weeks ago, I also pulled the right-side air vent and was able to look inside and see the wire with the "EV" paper tag wrapping it.

Thanks overlap. I did some research myself as well and found a good GROUND and READY connection comming from connector B11 on the rear side of the ECU in the HV compartment.
Did some cut/paste to the original document to get it all on one page: http://www.endoe.nu/SG2/HVschema.jpg

Pin2 wire is colored L (lilac?) and has the Ready signal and pin12 is B (brown or blue) and can be used as ground. Does that make sense?

What struck me is that there seems to be a difference between the IG ON signal and the READY signal. Maybe the IG ON carries ~12V immidiately after pushing the start button and the Ready signal after the internal checks, so with a slight delay.

According to this schematic: Image:prius-Battery ECU-Pin-out.gif - EAA-PHEV it is also pin 12 (black/white) for ground and pin 2 (blue) for the Ready signal. The colors are different to those in the workshop manual but the pinout is exactly the same.
So this seems to be the best way to go.

In case not caught, the mention of the "white" wire is not the Prius factory wire color, but the color of the wire from the Prius EV connector using the Enginer provided WHITE wire with the "EV" label written on it, and plugged into the Enginer switch. By simply unplugging this wire from the Enginer switch, providing it another ground toggles the Prius into EV mode.

Didn't catch that but I get it now overlap. Since I will have to connect both on the Enginer side to the HV: is there a way to determin which wires are Ground and Ready comming from the Enginer box?

    Thanks, Floyd

I have a 2005 with original EV button and did all the wiring in the back, GND is not hard to find and READY is a
solid yellow cable to a medium size white connector in the back of a 2005. Easy to find and confirm with a DVM
and some flipping on off of the car. I then use the original EV button
and turn on off Enginer button unrelated to each other. EV button connection to the Enginer switch is only
to turn on EV mode in the case you don´t have the EV button, or like to have it that way. I don´t have the
spare blank in the panel on the 2005 where the Enginer button goes according to the video so I haven´t decided
where to put it yet. Olov

Thank you Olov! I read a message on the enginer forum where you wrote that too. And I have also seen it in the official Enginer website instruction video where the guy points at the yellow wire saying something like 'the yellow wire is the Ready signal'.

I don't want to be a nitpicker but this is not entirely correct. This yellow wire is actually on the 4 pin connector to the main HV relay, and it carries the socalled K2 signal. It will jump to 10V about 150 milliseconds before the RDY goes from 0V to 12V. Just before that the K2 signal will increase from 10V to 12V at the same time the Ready signal goes from 0V to 12V. So they do reach the 12V stage at the same time. (also see: Prius PHEV TechInfo - EAA-PHEV)

But this probably does not seem to make much difference to the Enginer kit as long as the internal checks have been done first. Maybe it will not switch on at 10 Volts. And if it works for you, it will work for me too. :)

    Thanks, Floyd

BTW: there is a similar opening below the 3 buttons, you can cut out the plastic there. It is a little low but maybe you could put the panel there?
