(I didn't find related posts) Recently tested 2012 Prius regular, and engine was really noisy (I could hear it) on flats and short uphills. Is this normal? When I tested 3 years ago there was no noise but I was very light on the accelerator, maybe it was in electric mode.
It is noticeable to be sure. I think Toyota sacrificed a bit too much sound insulation to keep the weight down. It is also tough when so often the engine is off and it is silence only to be interrupted by a silly gas engine coming on.
