Today I watched the Energy screen for the first time in a while. I noticed that the enegy path between the battery and the electric motor would go blank from time to time. Is that indicative of a problem? Thanks Tom
Nope. That would be "gliding". You're neither using the battery nor engine to propel the car and are solely relying on momentum to keep you going. Keeping it in the "no arrow" state for as long as you can is beneficial to maximising mileage. The full technique is called pulse and glide. You accelerate briskly up to ~ 40mph (the pulse) and then get into the 'no arrow' state (glide) for as long as you can (usually down to 25mph)
