Enabling auto lock on 2008 Prius

    Just got an 08 to go with my 07. I noticed in the owners manual that they have a programmable feature that is an auto door lock. You can configure it several ways such as locking doors after putting into drive, opening locks after putting into park, etc. Does anyone know if we can program these ourselves or do we need to go to the dealer?

    I talked to a local dealer and they told me it needs to be done at the dealer, but they can't do it because they need a software update for the scantool.

    I'm a few years late to this thread, but I thought I'd chime in about my new Prius-C (Aqua). This car doesn't come with auto door lock. But I found a Japanese company that puts out a CAN-BUS product that will dupe that functionality:

    They claim it auto-locks at 20km/h and auto-unlocks when the gear is moved back to Park. I haven't purchased yet. I just wanted to see if anyone else might have had experience with the product.
