I was cleaning my egr cooler, egr, and egr pipe today and I decided to unscrew the 2 phillips screw on the egr. I took the plastic cover off and saw what looked like bearing and cylinder. The cylinder can spin to a stop and my questions is, does it need to be wound up before putting the cover back on? I am not sure how it was sitting when I took it apart. I hope I don't have to take the egr cooler back off. Thanks!
You need to "wind down" the magnet and spring to reseat the black cover. So spin on the magnet. Otherwise you won't get the cover back on.
